In a recent revelation, Slash, the iconic guitarist of Guns N’ Roses, delves into the intriguing process of bringing AC/DC’s legendary vocalist, Brian Johnson, on board for his highly anticipated solo album.

The Collaboration Unveiled: Brian Johnson’s Impact on Slash ‘s New Album

Renowned for his guitar prowess, Slash plans to release his upcoming blues album, ‘Orgy Of The Damned’, on May 17th through Gibson Records. The lead single, a rendition of Howlin’ Wolf’s ‘Killing Floor’, features the unmistakable voice of Brian Johnson alongside harmonica contributions from Steven Tyler of Aerosmith fame.

In a candid discussion with Audacy’s Check In, Slash shares insights into the collaboration process, stating, “I had the song and I was trying to think who would be great to do it.

Expounding on Johnson’s enthusiasm for the project, Slash elaborates, “And also, he was telling me that he’s doing something at present where he’s putting together sort of a blues-orchestra thing… and so he was excited to do that particular song anyway.”

Spontaneity and Inspiration: The Story Behind Steven Tyler’s Contribution

Adding another layer of excitement to the mix, Steven Tyler’s harmonica talents grace the track. Reflecting on Tyler’s involvement, Slash recalls, “He came in to do the harmonica or he just happened to have a harmonica with him. I can’t remember, but I played him the track. It was, like, ‘This is great.’ So it was very spontaneous.”

In the midst of an era dominated by meticulous production, Slash’s emphasis on capturing spontaneous moments stands out. He notes, “Amidst everything being very well thought out and cultivated and homogenized and produced, this was just very, very off the cuff.”
